Hi friends, we had a great time learning about the 6 disciples the week before. We are tasked with a homework to do, remember? :) Let's do our homework a cool way, BLOG IT!

Let's start our 4 simple questions:

1. Beginning the Journey: Count the Cost
Jesus said that whoever wants to follow Him, that person must deny himself and take up his cross. He said that if one wants to save his life, he will lost it, but if he loses his life for Jesus and for the gospel, he will save it (Mark 8:34-35)
When Simon Peter, James and John met Jesus, they pulled their boats to shore, left everything, and followed Him (Luke 5:11)
Question 1: How are your attitudes and actions different because you are a follower of Jesus

2. Following Christ Together: Fellowship
Jesus prayed that His followers would be unified. (John 17:23). The followers of Jesus were to meet together and encourage one another. (Hebrew 10:25)
Question 2: What are the benefits of meeting and praying together with other followers of Jesus?

3. Serving Christ and Others
Jesus said that whoever wants to become great among His disciples must be a servant, just as Jesus Himself did not come to be served, but to serve, and "to give His life a ransom for many". (Matt 20:26-28)
Question 3: What do you think Jesus meant when He said that it is better to serve others than to be served?

4. Failures and Forgiveness
When Jesus was arrested, all the disciples deserted Him and fled. Peter denied knowing Him because he feared for his life. (Matt25:26, Mark 14:17). Later Jesus said that the disciples would receive power when the Holy Spirit came to them and that they would share the good news in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and all over the earth (Acts 1:8)
Question 4: If you desert or deny Jesus, God can forgive you, give you power from Holy Spirit, and use you as a witness. How have you experienced this?

HELLOOO!

I'm Meijing from LIFE 4! WOOOOHOOOO! :D

I'm sure that every single one of you who attended the camp has been GREATLY IMPACTED by the camp right?
I want to share how this camp had impacted me.

Truly the camp was really GREAT and FUN! Watched a few video that really WOW-ed me, we watched the indescribable video that showed us how small we are and how BIG God is. God is really amazing!
When i watched the part where they showed us how big and how beautiful the universe is, i was totally blown away! haha!

Still remembered that night when we have our night walk? Before we had our night walk, a cgl told us that this may be just a night walk but we must have some urgency and seriousness in us. After going through the night walk, i felt even more convinced of having the urgency of saving the lost souls, for Jesus said in Revelation 22:12-13,
"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the End, the First and the Last."

Matthew 24:42
Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

Matthew 24:27
For as the lighting comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son Of Man be.

HE IS COMING SOON!

I really thank God, pastor, all the cgl's and of course mentors for sacrificing their precious time to plan and pray for this awesome camp! It had really impacted me and my spirit was once again renewed!
And again, i also found back my first love for God! All these time while i was quite busy with my studies and my cca, and couldn't really spend time to linger around in His presence and pray.
But after the youth camp, i feel that my spirit is very excited, i made it a point that i want to do more things for God, sacrifice more time for Him, spend more time with Him and serve Him more!

In the past, i used to rely on the mature members in my cg. I always think that i doesn't have to do anything because they will be always there for me.
But what if they are not there? Who am i going to rely to? What if there are new friends there? WHat am i suppose to do?
And at this moment of time, this verse came to my mind.

Matthew 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that i have commanded you; and lo. I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

YES! I will be the one to stand in the gap when they are not there.
I want to step out of my comfort zone, i dont want to stay where i am now.
We are the next GENERATION
and now is the TIME.

I want encourage you guys that dont let fear to stop you from what you want to do for God.
2 Timothy 1:7, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Pray to God that HE will lead you away from temptation, take away every single fear that's in you, let faith begains to arise.
Pray Until Something Happens! (althought im not from PUSH, haha!)
And now we are now in the seasons of 21 days pf prayer! So i encourage that every one of you to pray at least one hour a day :D

As mentioned before the camp:

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Give yourselves a round of applause for a successful Youth Camp! With the friends everyone has brought in, we were able to see many of our unchurched friends getting saved! Hallelujah! [Actual figures will only be revealed during 12 Disciples' Bible Study]

From the Inspirational Mission's Session where Aaron stirred up our passion to love and pray for China and Indonesia, to the videos we watched on our great big "Indescribable" Daddy God, coupled with the Divine Encounters we have at the Cross we all knelt down before, and the exciting "Left Behind" + "Tele-match" + "Sports Mania" where we had tremendous fun (& scare!) & the Sermons that has revolutionised our mind, this C.O.D.E. R.E.D. 2008 has indeed proved to be an experience never to be forgotten.

Throughout the Youth Camp, one of the greatest joy has been to see members rising up to the occasion, taking on the role as mentors, helpers & workers to make C.O.D.E. R.E.D. 2008 successful, fulfilling the vision of Releasing + Empowering Disciples (R.E.D.). We're truly in the business of making disciples that can take campuses by storm!

Upon completing our participation in this year's Youth Camp + the discipleship in the Great Commandment, we are now being released to obey the Great Commission! Let us not stop our "Divine Encounters" on the 13th of June, but rather, become Carriers Of these Divine Encounters, bringing Christ back into our Church services, CG meetings, family, campuses & our marketplace!

Hello Everybody! MY Name Is Lionel,Weikiat currently studying at Jurong Sec ,Sec1.

Through this camp i learned alot of things.Indeed God is a great God Bigger then the whole universe.First day of camp where pastor C.K shared about the 7 approaches of the Cross.I'm really blessed by the word.

I've joined this church since I was in P2.P2-P6 i went to children church in Children Church I'm just like the passerby attending service like a routine without absorbing anything when i go home my mum always ask me"What You Learn Today?" my answer will be "Don't Know" but at that moment my CG leader 'Xuelin' called me to invite me to her cellgroup W316.Out of a sudden i want to know God more.and i accepted.I took one step after that then i respond to the altar call.Amen! Now i know being a passerby is not really a good thing, through we can learn new things ,experience new things and many many more because HE IS GREAT! A GREAT GOD! Amen!

Now what pastor shared thank you a lot I do not want to be a passerby i wanna be the child of God Praise and Worship everyday truly.I want to be the Salt and Light FOr him! The bible said (Lamentations 3:23-24). The faithful of the Lord never end! His mercy never cease! Great is his faithfulness;his mercies afresh each morning. He is a great God! AMEN!

Launching our new blog skin for this new youth camp!

The leadership is really looking forward for this year's youth camp to be a life-transforming, God-encountering & salvation-experiencing one, where destinies will be realised, divine encounters will be deeply felt & souls will be numerously saved!

As the banner of the blog goes: C.O.D.E. R.E.D., we desire strongly to step into the very presence of God and thereafter bringing it with us wherever we go, becoming Carriers Of Divine Encounters. Coupling it together with the fun & exciting activities lined up throughout the 3 days, we are truely in for a great & eventful time.

Not forgetting R.E.D.!!! Pastor Chee Kiang's vision from the beginning of the year has been to RELEASE more laborers to participate hand-in-hand in God's work, while EMPOWERING each & every one with the anointing & ability to set ablaze campuses! & we the CK zone members are the DISCIPLES called to this vision.

Updates for Christmas

Hey friends..

Yesterday I went to meet 2 of my friends together with Dev at their working place and invited them to come for our Christmas service. God is good! My friends asked me if they can get more flyers from me so that they can invite all their Macdonald Crews to the service as well. After which, I went to visit 2 of my other friends that came for service before, and invited them too. Guess what!! They will be coming too!!!! Praise the Lord!!
Today after the prayer meeting, I will be meeting my sister for dinner. Please pray that she will come for this christmas service and that the love of God will touch her and she will be saved.

Hello guys!

N411(xue 'en's cg) has a total of 52 friends confirmed for X'mas now from various CCAs in the members secondary school. We are believing God for a total of 75 friends for this X'mas svc.

Meetings with CCA groups have yield positive results as CCA groups like NPCC are having a large number of people coming this X'mas.

The bible says, "The person who trusts me will not only do what I'm doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I've been doing" John 14:12.

So guys, let's trust in Jesus! Because if we really trust Him, we will be able to do what He is doing. So let's be confident and bold in reaching out to our friends!

Dear all!

Cheryl (Cell group leader), has a vision of 120 people for this coming Christmas! The total pledged friends is 150, believing for at least 2 buses of friends.

Currently, her CG already has close to 50 friends confirmed, all from different levels, from primary school all the way to University students. The Bible says, Go the highways and by ways to compel the people. You can invite anyone and everyone, including your family members!

Cheryl is still believing for another 30 more friends confirming by today, truly it's not by strength, not by might, but its by the Holy Spirit! Allow Him to empower you to bring your friends into this miracle Christmas!

We've another great news to share!!!!

Mayce Wu (Cell group leader from E212), went down to meet some mainland China students from a hostel and managed to invite a whole bus of students down! That's just awesome! :)

Another news is that, she has also got a second bus filled with secondary school students! At the same time, Mayce is also reaching out to her own colleagues, who are professional swimming coaches at her workplace. Currently she already has 10 of them confirmed, and is still reaching out to the rest!

Let's really make a difference in our friends' lives, step out in faith and believe God for a great movement!

Hi guys!

this is Pst Chee Kiang speaking...

Two days ago I went with one my leaders to a mainly mainland Chinese hostel which consists of many PhD, University students, and from there we managed to invite a bus of people to come for Christmas! And tomorrow night we will go down again to confirm one more bus! Praise the Lord!

Also, for my maid recently she went for a Filipino gathering and got to know some of the professionals who are really interested in coming. Her own parents and siblings are coming too! Now, I'm still working with her to bring one more bus down. Believing God for more open doors!

What are you waiting for? Lets do this movement and bring down revival together!

Here to share a great testimony,

Alvin Chua (Cell group leader from E429), went to one of the secondary school's Guitar Club and invited them to last week's service, total there is 11 brand new friends! With more people coming this Christmas as they were really impacted by Pst. Kong's sermon! Praise the Lord for this open door this Christmas!

God Speaks

Hey Guys!!

I believe all of you had a wonderful time at this breakaway camp!! I think it was Splendid! Above and beyond the fun and bonding, I believe we have experienced God in a more intimate way. For myself, I know I did. As I was doing my quiet time thursday morning, I began to pray for the camp, for my group, for God's presence to fall. I was hungry for an encounter - just a word from heaven!

Suddenly God spoke to me! He told me flip to Romans and read the whole of chapter 8. I began to recall what I had learnt previously from the verses. They all seemed normal, but still i read. Reaching verse 14, I received a new revelation. Again, verse 14 seemed like a normal verse we would have come across many times. But my spirit began to stir.

Romans 8:14 -
because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

(you may want to read previous verses as well)

Throughout our walk with God, be it 3 month, 6 months, or a few years, majority of us have come across the phrase "being led by the Holy Spirit". Am I right? In fact, most of us have made that decision "Yes, ok, I want to let the Holy Spirit take control.." and our passion is stirred up. But I realised that slowly by slowly, our human nature tries to snatch the control back from the Holy Spirit!! There is no daily effort to die to ourselves! I am like that as well. Many of the times, I am so on fire, and after a while i'll be lukewarm. After a while we think that its ok to give in to our wishes. Sometimes our sub-conscious can even desire for more control without us knowing!!

Is this how you want the power of God to work in your life? To turn on and off, on and off, on and off, etc? Try doing that while charging your precious handphone and see what happens. Its the same for us! Our stamina,our capacity will start decreasing! Slowly but surely! Why not make a daily decision to stay plugged in? Why not remain connected to God? Why not let the Holy Spirit keep taking control? Afterwhich will we be able to experience a greater annointing, a larger capacity...

John 15:5-8 -
⁵"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. ⁷If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. ⁸This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Verse 8 begins to reveal the promise of fruitfulness, only after you choose to be broken, to let the Holy Spirit take control. Make it an everyday affair to ask for the Holy Spirit to be in control. We have to be aware. Otherwise we'll lose it somehow. Don't lose it. We're nothing without God...

YOU MADE MY DAY! (:

During the second night session of the camp, we had an experiential candlelight meeting. Not only was the candlelight magnificent in its glow that brightened the dark hall in its masses, but the fact that the light of every candle was passed down from one candle to another.

In church, Pastor has always been urging us to be the salt and the light of the world; impacting and influencing the society. And many a times this catch phase comes to as simply just a tagline for everyone. But through this meeting I realised that impacting and influencing society begins with one being able to pass on your light to another person. Simply saying, it's making someone else's day , making someone shine with your light.

Bringing this back with me - to be determined to make the day of the people around me - I felt that I had to really go and make someone feel special. That Saturday I invited a friend of mine to service. However due to work limitations, he could only make it during his dinner time from 7 to 8 pm. When previously his colleagues would have accompanied him, this time he is on his own. Although I wasn't intending to make it for the Sat's service, I dropped by his work place at 630pm and went together for service. Rev John was already into his offering message and ending the service soon. Regardless of the late entry, and sitting at the back rows, upon altar call by Pst Kong and persistent encouragement, my friend responded and gave his heart to Jesus that night!

I believe that when you make someone's day, it is really the little things that matter.
Dev, if you ever read this, thank you fir making my day. :)

Our cheer..

Sweet things we did to each other will leave in our memories from now on. Sweet things like:

wake up in the middle of the night to accompany each other to toilets,
tearing food into small pieces so that she can eat better with her new braces,
boosting each others' morale by telling them how good they are and appreciated.
sharing your sleeping bag to keep each other comfortable
waiting team mates to all arrive before we start our supper.
ton thru the nights just to prepare logistic stuff for the next day.. some do packing.. some do powerpoint slides.. some do cutting.

The friendships forged through this youth camp will not be forgotten. Man! you guys are wonderful to be with. Sleepness nights that we gone through in this youth camp, gotten us close to each other.

Moments when we all decided to make another person's life shine like we did were definitely memorable.

Let this camp be our starting point, our launching pad and our encouragement portal.

We will make another person's day. Everyday!

To the late night stayers: who choose to eat MacDonalds instead of going to sleep!!

I know most of you amazing people are having the first time camping outside your comfortable air-con house, and sleeping together with loud- snoring people(u-know-who) hahaaa. Despite the tiredness and panda eyes, i see you guys going through this camp with fighting spirit and learning to perform as one body. Thank You all you people, who slot in so many letters into my mailbox, i am so touched by your mere words of encouragement!

It is not only about the good times we went through, but the tough times of iron sharpens iron experience which forge long lasting relationships. As what I've always said " I know you inside out" thru this camp.. Muahahahaha!!

Let's continue to spread the good deeds through this golden arc.

It ‘s great to be able to lead you guys during the 3D2N camp!! Though you guys do not have enough sleep but jus wanna tell you guys that you are AWESOME-- the spirit of NEVER GIVE UP, the BONDING among you guys, the LAMEST JOKE that you guys could cracked (*attributes sell christian books), the ENCOUNTERINGS you guys had shared are just so GREAT!!
I am proud of you guys!! Though 3D2N had ended, but the real journey has just begun; the encounters you had will be your courage to MOVE ON!

You guys are SHIOK AH!!!!

Haha.. It is a pleasure to be able to lead all of you,

your laughter and even your lame jokes made our day!

It is awesome to see all of you growing up

together in this team.

Even though all of you don't know each other

during the first day of the camp,

you guys managed to bond really well

throughout the 3days.

Taking care of one another,
